ABOUT SARAH
Emmy-award winning journalist Sarah Pilla is a passionate storyteller, committed to connecting with audiences across Southern California.
Since joining Spectrum News 1 SoCal, she’s covered a variety of stories including national politics, Hollywood and award shows, lifestyle and wellness, but she’s a passionate advocate for the environment.
In 2021 her story on ocean plastics and their impact on marine animals won her an Emmy.
In addition to this, she filed a series of reports on the impacts of climate change including natural disasters, the sustainability movement, plastic pollution, the megadrought of California and the West, and traveled to Mexico to see the impacts of the decimated Colorado River Delta.
She’s dedicated to helping viewers understand the importance of preserving our planet through everyday lifestyle choices.
She holds a B.A. in Journalism from California State University Northridge and is a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher.
